Battery keeps going flatUpdated 2 months ago

If your vehicle battery is going flat after installing the dash cam, this is almost always related to parking mode setup or wiring, not a fault with the camera itself.

Follow the steps below to identify and fix the issue.

1. Check if the dash cam is actually entering parking mode

Open the Viidure app and go to the dash cam gallery.

At the top, check the Parking folder.

• If you see recordings in the Parking folder, the dash cam is entering parking mode correctly.
• If all recordings are only in the Loop folder, the dash cam is staying in high-power driving mode while the car is off, which can drain the battery.

Important note:
When in parking mode, the dash cam lights will still be on, this is normal.
However, the Wi-Fi indicator light will turn off once parking mode is active.

2. If there are no parking recordings, check your wiring

This means the dash cam is not switching into parking mode correctly.

Confirm the hardwire connections are correct:

Yellow wire must be connected to a constant 12V fuse (always powered)
Red wire must be connected to a fuse that turns on and off strictly with ignition (ACC)
Black wire must be connected to a solid metal ground point

If the red and yellow wires are reversed, or the ACC fuse flickers or stays powered when the car is off, the dash cam will remain in high-power mode and drain the battery.

Recheck your selected fuses and wiring orientation.

3. If parking mode is working, adjust the low-voltage cut-off

If you do see timelapse recordings in the Parking folder, the dash cam is working correctly and you can fine-tune battery protection.

In the app, adjust the low-voltage cut-off setting to suit your vehicle:

• 11.6V
• 11.8V
• 12.0V

Higher settings provide more battery protection, especially for newer vehicles or smaller batteries.

4. If voltage adjustment is not available, update firmware

If you do not see the adjustable voltage cut-off option in the app, your dash cam is running older firmware.

Update to the latest firmware here to unlock this feature:

After updating, recheck the parking mode and voltage settings.

Summary

• Battery drain is usually caused by incorrect fuse selection or wiring
• Always confirm parking recordings are going into the Parking folder
• Yellow wire = constant 12V
• Red wire = ignition ACC only
• Adjust low-voltage cut-off to protect your battery
• Update firmware if voltage settings are missing

If you’re unsure about fuse selection or wiring, we recommend using a professional installer.
